Bequest Language
Below is language you can use to make a bequest to support our cause. A bequest allows you to continue to use the property you will leave to us during your life and make a lasting impact on our work after you are gone.
1. Specific Bequest
If you are considering making an outright bequest to Casa Dorinda, we recommend the following language:
Bequest of a Specific Dollar Amount
I hereby give, devise and bequeath _________ and No/100 dollars ($DOLLARS) to Montecito Retirement Association, dba Casa Dorinda, a nonprofit organization located at 300 Hot Springs Rd, Montecito, CA 93108, Federal Tax ID #_______________, for Casa Dorinda's general use and purpose.
Bequest of Specific Personal Property
I hereby give, devise and bequeath DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY to Montecito Retirement Association, dba Casa Dorinda, a nonprofit organization located at 300 Hot Springs Rd, Montecito, CA 93108, Federal Tax ID #_______________, for Casa Dorinda's general use and purpose.
Bequest of Specific Real Estate
I hereby give, devise and bequeath all of the right, title and interest in and to the real estate located at ADDRESS OR DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY to Montecito Retirement Association, dba Casa Dorinda, a nonprofit organization located at 300 Hot Springs Rd, Montecito, CA 93108, Federal Tax ID #_______________, for Casa Dorinda's general use and purpose.
2. Percentage Bequest
If you are considering making a bequest of a percentage of your estate to Casa Dorinda, we recommend the following language:
I hereby give, devise and bequeath ____ percent (___%) of my total estate, determined as of the date of my death, to Montecito Retirement Association, dba Casa Dorinda, a nonprofit organization located at 300 Hot Springs Rd, Montecito, CA 93108, Federal Tax ID #_______________, for Casa Dorinda's general use and purpose.
3. Residual Bequest
I hereby give, devise and bequeath to Montecito Retirement Association, dba Casa Dorinda, a nonprofit organization located at 300 Hot Springs Rd, Montecito, CA 93108, Federal Tax ID #_______________, ALL OR A PERCENTAGE of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to be used for Casa Dorinda's general use and purpose.
4. Contingent Bequest
If (primary beneficiary) does not survive me, then I hereby give, devise and bequeath to Montecito Retirement Association, dba Casa Dorinda, a nonprofit organization located at 300 Hot Springs Rd, Montecito, CA 93108, Federal Tax ID #_______________, DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY to be used for Casa Dorinda's general use and purpose.
Note: If you wish to designate your gift to a specific Casa Dorinda fund, please substitute “general use and purpose” with the name of the fund you wish to donate to. If a specific fund is not identified, your unrestricted gift will be used where the need is greatest, according to the Montecito Retirement Association’s Board policy.
